What Petromat Does

Petromat is an engineered paving interlayer placed over properly prepared pavement after the specified asphalt binder is applied. The new asphalt surface course is then installed over the fabric, creating a continuous membrane within the overlay system.

A Coordinated Installation

Performance depends on pavement evaluation, repairs, cleaning, binder rate, fabric alignment and overlaps, weather, overlay design, placement, and compaction. Each step must be coordinated before the surface is reopened.

Not a Structural Repair

Paving fabric cannot rebuild unstable base, correct drainage, or repair severe pavement failure. Failed areas and unsuitable cracks should be addressed first, and the interlayer should be used only where pavement conditions and project specifications support it.
